Myke Anderson

A Musical History

Myke Anderson is a multi-instrumentalist, audio engineer, and producer from Denver, CO, USA.

Myke’s Musical journey started pre-memory -the early 80’s, with a Ukulele and walks with his sister

and his grandmother in Lakewood, Colorado, USA.

As an elementary student, Myke’s parents urged him to play an instrument! Myke chose the Coronet,

and he learned how to fake practicing.

It wasn’t until Myke studied under Mr. Andreas Sr. at Columbine High School in 1997,

when the lights went off, so to speak,

and he applied Professor Andreas Sr’s Music Theory lessons to his Electric Bass Guitar.

Myke’s first gig was a guerilla performance at Clement Park in Littleton, CO, USA.

A day after the one-year anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting,

Myke and the band set up and played their Music for friends.

It was a very special occasion, honoring the fallen students,

and the survivors of the Columbine High School Massacre.

Following this experience, Myke moved to the Four Corners area where he helped e

stablish several bands including: Aftergrass, Fresh Ground, and Dialogue.

During this time, from 2001 to 2006, Myke was also a bassist for the groups:

Speak No Evil, Catalyst, and notably, The Rico Blues Project in Telluride, CO, USA.

In 2006, after paying dues performing around 3-4 nights a week, Myke moved to the foothills of the Front Range of Colorado, where he performed as a solo bassist for several years.

The fall of 2010 saw Myke attending Gerald Veasley’s Bass Bootcamp in Reading, PA, USA. where he studied with Bakithi Kumalo, Adam Nitti, Brian Bromberg, Anthony Wellington, Richard Waller III, and Michael Manring.

Around 2011, Myke started working with Todd Strandberg and his company RhythmVision!

His work with RhythmVision included: drum manufacturing,

leading drum circles, staff training, and adaptive education.

His work with Todd Strandberg and RhythmVision led him to pursue a Musical Education,

to better his musical skills, and practice the Courage Wheel.

It was during the early part of the 2010’s when Myke met Koffi Togo and as an electric bassist,

performed sold out shows at internationally acclaimed concert venues such as Dazzle in Denver, Colorado, USA.

In 2015, Myke enrolled in Berklee College of Music Online!

Under the tutelage of Richard Appleman, Anthony Vitti, Danny Morris, David Clarke, and Gary Burton,

Myke successfully completed a Professional Certificate in Bass from Berklee Online.

Myke Anderson’s success completing a certificate at Berklee inspired him to continue his education,

and he was officially accepted as a student of Music at Berklee College of Music.

In accordance with his past as a youth at risk/adaptive learning educator, Myke chose to

Major in Interdisciplinary Studies, where he gained a broad understanding of Music, and the Music Industry.

During his time pursuing a Bachelor of Professional Studies at Berklee, Myke inherited RhythmVision,

and he sold, built, and delivered 80 drums to an elementary school in Vermont from Colorado, USA.

2020 Myke graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Professional Studies -

with a Major in Interdisciplinary Studies -straight into the Pandemic...

Along with the rest of the world, Myke was stuck at home.

With the help of Todd Strandberg and Friends, Myke was blessed to perform on,

and help produce a record with the band Kumpanya,

which you can hear, here, for free, at www.kumpanya.bandcamp.com.

Kumpanya was released on May 29, 2020.

The summer of 2020, Myke was accepted into the

Master of Music in Production program offered by Berklee College of Music!

The Summer of 2022, under the tutelage of John Storyk, Susan Rogers,

Enrique-Gonzolaz-Müller, Prince Charles Alexander, Jonathan Wyner,

John Whynot, and Sean Slade, Myke Anderson graduated with a

Master of Music in Music Production -with distinction, from Berklee College of Music.

Upon graduating, Myke Anderson finalized and released Donna Lovely’s debut EP “One Sweet Dance.”

Donna Lovely worked closely with Myke throughout his graduate degree and her Music

essentially became Myke’s master’s thesis.

Along with engineering, coaching, and recording Donna’s lovely music,

Myke played keyboards, guitars, flutes, and basses throughout “One Sweet Dance.”
